200 Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training

The Petals of Yoga is a 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training certification program, beginning in February of 2020. The intention of this program is to deepen our understanding and practice of Yoga to benefit ourselves and those we teach. Great teachers develop, not only through learning to safely guide others through asana, pranayama and meditation, but also through meticulous self-study (Svadhyaya) and personal practice (Sadhana). The dedication required to complete such a program encourages growth and transformation, producing individuals with the potential to teach and lead from a place of authenticity.

The Anatomy & Physiology portion of our training is extremely in-depth. We feel that it is important for teachers to understand not only how the body is a beautifully designed instrument of synchronicity, but also how the anatomical structure of the human organism moves, functions and benefits during the practice of Yoga.

The Petals of Yoga provides students with a strong foundation in Yogic principles. This includes techniques and tools for how we treat ourselves and others; in addition to asana, breath-work, mantra, meditation, nutrition, herbs and more. Our program is steeped in applicable Yogic philosophy.

As they approach graduation, students will participate in a free Yoga clinic which is offered to the public. This helps build confidence in guiding classes and instills a sense of selfless service (Seva) before the blossoming teachers leave the program and enter into formal teaching.

The teachers of Blue Cypress School Of Holism believe that with teaching comes responsibility, not only to the students; but also to the ancient science of Yoga which has been passed down generation after generation for over 5,000 years.

Blue Cypress School of Holism is both a Registered Yoga School and a Registered Continuing Education Provider through Yoga Alliance. Current Yoga teachers may also attend this course to deepen their practice and receive 200 hours of Continuing Education through Yoga Alliance. All graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion as Certified Yoga Teachers and have the option of enrolling as a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance.

There are also two weekend immersions during the course from 8 am-6 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Potential students must attend one of the scheduled Yoga Teacher Training Open House events (See 'Free Events' tab) to meet the teaching and support staff and ask questions about the program.

All accepted participants must have at least one year of public and/or personal Yoga practice
